The British Reflexology Association
The British Reflexology Association was founded in 1985 to act as a representative body for persons practicing the method of Reflexology as a profession and for students training in the method. The Association also aims to help promote the practice of Reflexology in Great Britain and abroad.
Here are 4 categories of membership -
Fellow membership - for persons elected by the Council who have distinguished themselves in the profession of Reflexology or who have rendered any conspicuous service to the Association. Fellow member may call themselves a "Registered Reflexologist" and may use the letters F.B.R.A. after their name.
Ordinary membership - for those persons who have passed examinations to obtain a Certificate from the official teaching body. Ordinary members may call themselves a 'Registered Reflexologist' and may use the letters M.B.R.A. after their name. All ordinary members have insurance cover.
Associate membership - for those persons who have passed examinations to obtain a Certificate from the official teaching body but shall not be practicing reflexology as a profession. Associate members may use the letters A.M.B.R.A. after their name.
Student membership - for those persons undergoing a course of training with the official teaching body or who have completed such a course but are unable to meet the requirements of Ordinary membership.
The official teaching body of the British Reflexology Association is the Bayly School of Reflexology.
A Register of Members is published yearly and this can be obtained from the Administration Office for the price of £2.00.
The B.R.A. is affiliated to the Reflexology in Europe Network (R.I.E.N). The official teaching body of The B.R.A., The Bayly School of Reflexology, is affiliated to the Institute for Complementary Medicine (I.C.M.).
